As a member of McPherson Ranch Owners’ Association, you are cordially invited to attend the 2024 Annual meeting of the Association. The meeting date has been scheduled for October 28th, 2024 at Granger Elementary School. Check in will begin at 6:45 p.m. and the meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. at Granger Elementary School (12771 Saratoga Springs Cir - cafeteria).
The Board of Directors will also hold a board meeting immediately following the Annual meeting to determine officer positions, and approve the 2025 budget. Your attendance at this meeting is very important. In order for the meeting to be held, a quorum of 10% of the ownership (81 homeowners) must be present either in person or by proxy. If the Annual Meeting quorum requirement is not met, the members will be asked to vote to recess the Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting election of directors will be recessed until the meeting can be reconvened. If necessary, the reconvened Meeting will be called 10 minutes after the initial meeting is recessed. Also, the HOA will be electing two (2) candidates to serve on the Board of Directors. The positions will each hold a two year term. If you wish to run for the Board and be considered as a candidate, please complete and return the enclosed candidacy form or submit your candidacy form online. Form must be received no later than 11:59 PM on Thursday Oct 10th. If you have any questions regarding this meeting notice, please feel free to contact Christina Fountain, Sr. Community Manager, at [email protected] or 972-359-1548. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Annual Meeting! As many of you may know, there was a recent high fish kill count at the pond recently. Some residents noticed a white film around the shoreline which is indicative of chlorine toxicity. Chemical testing was conducted and it was determined there was an elevated chlorine level. This happens when a water source with chlorine makes its way into the pond. Examples of when this could happen are: a pool is drained and the water is directed into the storm water drains, a fire hydrant is flushed, a city water line break, and potential the city's nearby water tower could also have released water into the storm drains. Water from storm drains will eventually make its way to the pond and surrounding water ways. When chlorine gets into the water, it burns the gills of the fish and makes it difficult for them to breathe. Combine that with summer heat and naturally low oxygen and you have a recipe for disaster. The rainstorm early Saturday morning and the fountain interruption over the weekend also has to be factored. The HOA is continuing to investigate this matter, and has notified the EPA. Hopefully the source of the contamination can be determined to prevent this in the future.
The Board of Directors recently had two members resign leaving two open seats. Alex Romero and Elena Messina were appointed by the board and will serve until the Annual Meeting.
The 2023 Pool season is scheduled to begin Memorial Day weekend. There are alot of renovations taking place including repairing the pool deck, updating the restrooms, and adding new pool furniture. Stay tuned for more info....
Please see the page "Meetings" for more information and how to vote!
The Annual Meeting is being held on October 27th starting at 7pm. Details are still being worked out for the meeting location, but it will be held online via Ring Central. Meeting details will be provided as we move closer to the meeting date.
The HOA is currently accepting candidate applications for the upcoming Board of Directors election. If you are interested, please complete the candidacy form and return it to [email protected]. Deadline for candidate submission (and to have your name on the proxy ballot) is October 5th. Candidate applications will not be accepted after this date. However you may choose to add your name to the ballot the night of the meeting as a floor nomination. The pool has reopened after undergoing treatment for black algae. Water may appear a bit cloudy today, but it will clear up. The water chemistry has been tested and retested to ensure it is safe for swim. Please make sure to follow all pool rules to prevent future closures. This includes the rules: 1) No glass containers as broken glass will shut down the pool immediatley 2) Wear appropriate swimwear. No jeans, or underwear. Regular diapers are prohibited. Make sure swim diapers are used. 3) Contamination from fecal matter, and vomiting, Make sure your children are not eating a big meal them jumping in the pool because your child then runs a huge risk of getting a tummy ache and contaminating the pool.
If you suspect someone is in violation of the pool rules, please email [email protected] and provide as much detail as possible. The results are in! The HOA opened up the selection process to the membership so everyone could have a voice this year in what seasonal color plants would be planted around the community. The Spring Color selection will include Purple Fountain Grass, Mix Penta, White Penta, Sunrise Rose Lantana, and Punch Vinca. The color selections will be installed within the next couple of weeks! Thank you to everyone who voted.
